the greatest loves of my life have been Black women.
the women who pick you up and breathe fire into your soul.
the women who call you on your bullshit, not so gently but always with love
the 'I see you sis' when they pass you on the street with a smile that you wish you could carry with you forever
the women who make eye contact with you in unfamiliar spaces to let you know you're not alone
the women with the harden faces who have been bruised and misused by life but refuse to lay down
the women that will pray with and over you and with that protection you know it will be alright
the sis who shakes the room with her mere presence for her, you, the ancestors and our babies
the 'act first, ask questions later' sis that's not gonna let it go down like that,
my very existence is because of these women who have molded me, inspired me, held me, and ignited me.
my life is love letter to Black women.
